Random Thoughts at Work

i love knowing that im wearing really cute matching bra and underwear when no one else knows. ha.

i also love having boobs. seriously.

yesterday was so hilarious. lizs car wouldnt start, so me, liz, lyn and sara pushed her car all the way to the gas station. it was so funny. a few people tried to stop and help us, but i told them it was ok, we were doing it for excercise lol. then we stayed up until 430 in the morning...we are the funniest people i know.

im really looking foward to the lsu game this weekend!

im very excited--i have the highest grade in my biology class. i also finished my biology and english papers. wooT! i wrote my biology paper on microscopy...holy crap, i had no idea microscopy could be so detailed and so complicated. my papers only 4 pages long, so i feel like ive shortchanged the subject or something, but oh well.

i am really looking foward to going home on tuesday. i swear, the past week i have been eating, drinking, and sleeping the anticipation of going home.

over the past few weeks, i have come to realize what an awesome experience it has been for me to move down here. ive been here only a few months, and already things seem to be falling back into place for me. its been a huge eye opener--ive been exposed to a completely different mindset and code of behavior. im also now experiencing the effects of a falling economy and that in itself has been a huge, like i said before, eye opener. not to mention, my mood has improved ten fold. for this, i think i owe thanks to the friends i have made down here...theyve introduced me to new people, new experiences, new music, new hobbies, new interests, new ideas and new beliefs. its amazing all the people that flow in and out of your life--the effects they have on you, on other people. i am so grateful for the friends i have made down here. because of them, i have overcome a lot of childish and self-depricating mindsets. ive also been able to overcome issues that have haunted me for years. one in particular.

i feel like the luckiest person in the world. ive known so many amazing people, and each and every one of them is important to me. ive experienced love, like the kind in corinthians--and i think so few people get to experience love in such a pure form--maybe ill get to experience that again, maybe not. either way, i am still so fortunate to have known those emotions. thats enough. Now, i have my family, a future, and an incredible set of friends that i treasure greatly--they remind me why i used to smile so much.

blah blah blah

im bored. we got out of speech class early and i have nothing to do. hmm. so now im sitting next to my biology teacher in the computer lab, and hes wearing a very strange hat. SWEET! he can be part of the "silly hats" only club...i guess first we need to make a silly hats only club.

so lets see...today a girl gave her speech on racism...and she only talked about black and white. and she only did it from one point of view: the white person recieving favor over the black person. hmmmm.....anyone else see something wrong with this picture? i think one of the best definitions of racism ive ever heard was given during a seminar we had for UN 101...i cant remember it just now, ill have to post it later...something about seeing flaws in other people. it doesnt portain just to black and white. it can be me stereotyping baptists or jews (which i do, because its funny! lol but its all in good fun. they can make fun of me too, i dont mind).

lalala i wish i had something to do. i am listening to thrice and its so amazing.

so last night i got kind of pissed off about something, and i tried to stay mad, but i couldnt. i guess i am just not an angry person. i do believe people are inherently good,  and no matter what someone does to me, i always forgive them.  i also think i had an epiphany the other day. about an issue that has haunted me for what seems like forever. so thats a huge relief for myself. i dont really want to share it in this journal, but i would actually really like to talk to lindsay, because i think shed be interested in hearing this. plus, i miss her a ton!

ok im leaving.

Pictures

so well start with a picture of connie may fowler and myself:

she shared an excerpt from her book, it sounds so awesome and i cant wait until it comes out. it was incredible meeting her--she was so jubiliant and so radiant--it had to have been contagious because i know i walked out of the symposium smiling from ear to ear. listening to her read from her new book makes me want to start writing again.

now a pic of me and lyn and liz!

Lyn, me and Liz...all of us with our short hair :) this was last  night at october fest...lyn was a highlander (her social club), i was a naughty catholic school girl and liz was a hippie (big suprise)

now me and the boys:

arent they precious? they were sandwiching me because i was cold. i won dave at the bachelor bid, that thing was hilarious. guys takin off their shirts and whatnot...i dont know if i could do that...have someone bid on me, i mean, not take off my shirt, because i can definitely do that lol.

ok more pictures soon...like of me and liz getting our hair cut.

today i almost fell down the stairs on the way to the bathroom at work this morning, lol. so after i scared myself half to death by nearly cracking my head open, i went to the bathroom. thats when i realized i put my underwear on inside out this morning. i got dressed in the dark because my roommate was still asleep. haha, i laughed hard about that one.

me, lyn, liz and sarah went to jackson this weekend, and it was awesome. i got my hair cut off...but i think im going to go a little shorter in the next few weeks.

Vent

i just cried over a fucking chemistry lab. what the hell? i just got so pissed off because dr. doumit says i didnt add the ammonia solution but i know i did...i diluted 120 ml of NH3 with 100 ml of water, added 100 ml to the "new" solution, retrieved 1 ml and poured the remaining 119 ml into the "old" solution, just as we were instructed to do.  we still got full credit for the lab, so i dont know why im so pissed off. it just gave me a headache. i dont know why i cried. im drinking a glass of water (though i might rather it be a glass of whiskey) and it calmed me down a bit.

saturday was too much fun...hanging with liz and lyn and brian and dave has been awesome. its so drama free and we have so much fun. liz and lyn are two of the most generous and kind girls ive met in a long time, not to mention they are freaking hilarious.

dave (L) and brian (R) are so precious!

ok im done venting. ill soon have pictures up of me and connie may fowler, and fill in all the details of the welty symposium.
